TRENDING RUMORS

Arsenal seeks to outpace Liverpool, Chelsea, and Manchester United in their pursuit of Juventus forward Kenan Yildiz, according to Football Insider. The 20-year-old is among Europe’s most promising young attackers, registering six goals and five assists in 18 appearances this season. Although he has a contract lasting until 2029, his hesitation to sign an extension has intrigued several top Premier League clubs eager to capitalize on the situation.

– Fenerbahçe is preparing a bid for Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski. As reported by AS, the LaLiga giants are open to transferring Lewandowski, whose contract expires at season’s end, and Fenerbahçe is offering him an 18-month deal. Lewandowski prioritizes regular first-team opportunities ahead of the upcoming FIFA World Cup with Poland next summer, which may be his last chance to participate in the tournament.

– The growing interest in Marc Guéhi from teams across Europe could compel Liverpool to act quickly in January, according to Football Insider. Both Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are reportedly preparing to pursue the England international on a free transfer next summer. However, Liverpool previously nearly signed him for £35 million in August, and they may prefer to pay a smaller fee to secure his signing in January to avoid losing him for free. Crystal Palace is open to a deal in January to prevent losing him without compensation.

– Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho has been informed that he would need to reduce his £300,000-a-week salary significantly to return to Borussia Dortmund, as reported by The Daily Mirror. The 25-year-old is on loan at Aston Villa and has made only four appearances in the Premier League. He is reportedly eager to return to Germany to revive his career, but it’s uncertain if he is prepared to accept a significant pay cut to facilitate that move.

– Orlando City is nearing an agreement to sign midfielder Luis Otávio from Internacional, according to reports from UOL. The promising 18-year-old has already played 27 times for his club in Brazil, including 19 appearances in Série A. The deal will go through under the U22 Initiative once club agreements are finalized.

EXPERT TAKE

ESPN scout Tor-Kristian Karlsen evaluates the remarkable potential of Kenan Yildiz.

Yildiz appeared as a seasoned player when he first featured for Juventus last season, most notably changing the tenor of the Derby d’Italia against Inter Milan with two stunning goals in the second half during a thrilling 4-4 draw.

He usually operates in a flexible role behind the striker, but can also function effectively as a “False No. 9”. His preferred position is on the left, from where he drives in with pace for shots or passes.

Yildiz excels at finding space in the attacking third and is adept with both feet, making him unpredictable when confronted by defenders. With the ball, he maintains balance and creativity, averaging 2.1 chances created per 90 minutes and 2.3 shots (0.9 on target) in Serie A last season. He is also quick to press opponents and capitalize on poor touches from defenders.

While his consistency in the final third is still developing, occasionally he overcommits to individual plays rather than utilizing team strategies. Nevertheless, embodying the No. 10 jersey at Juventus, previously worn by his idol Alessandro Del Piero, the 20-year-old possesses the potential of a star, and it’s no wonder that he’s catching the attention of other clubs.
