Concacaf rivals Weston McKennie and Jonathan David joined forces to score two critical goals, leading Juventus to a crucial 3-2 victory over Bodo/Glimt in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Juventus entered the match in icy Norway needing a win to keep their hopes of progressing to the knockout stages alive, but they quickly found themselves trailing after Ole Didrik Blomberg capitalized on a loose ball at the back post to score the first goal.

However, Loïs Openda equalized for Juventus before McKennie soared above his defender to head in a stunning goal, putting the Serie A outfit ahead.

After Bodo equalized with a penalty from Sondre Brunstad Fet, David struck the decisive goal, finishing off a rebound from a shot by Kenan Yildiz, who had just been subbed in at halftime and contributed to all three of Juve’s goals.

David’s goal helped Juventus secure their first victory of the group stage, bringing their points total to six and elevating them to 21st place in the 36-team standings.

This marked McKennie’s first goal of the season for Juventus, bringing his Champions League career total to eight. His U.S. teammate Christian Pulisic holds the record for the most goals by an American in the Champions League with 12.
