Cunha, Sesko Remain Absent…

Ruben Amorim will be missing key players Matheus Cunha, Benjamin Sesko, and Harry Maguire as Manchester United aims to recover from their recent loss to Everton. They are set to face Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Cunha was forced to withdraw from the squad prior to the Everton match after sustaining a head injury during training.

Although he will miss the game at Selhurst Park, he is expected to return for next week’s fixture against West Ham.

On the other hand, Sesko and Maguire are likely to be out for a longer period.

“I anticipate having Matheus back for the next match, but not this one,” Amorim stated during a press conference on Friday.

“Sesko will require a bit more time, and the same goes for Harry.”

When asked if Sesko has encountered a setback in his recovery from a knee injury, Amorim responded, “No. It will just take a little longer. We are carefully managing the injury.”

As they head into the match against Palace, United has only secured one away victory in the Premier League this season.

Amorim’s squad has found themselves in good positions during away matches against Nottingham Forest and Tottenham but could only earn late draws.

Aside from their 2-1 victory against Liverpool at Anfield in October, United’s last league win away from home was against Leicester City in March.

“It’s difficult to pinpoint the reasons for our away struggles,” Amorim acknowledged. “There are multiple issues. If I analyze our matches, we should have accumulated more points.

“We controlled several games and even held leads, but we lost that control. Reflecting on our recent games, I can confidently say we deserved more points, which is incredibly disappointing and frustrating—especially regarding the last match against Everton.”
