Throughout his tenure at Anfield after joining from Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2020, Jota wore the No. 20 jersey. He spent five seasons with Liverpool, winning the Premier League, FA Cup, and League Cup.
Following his passing, Liverpool permanently retired the No. 20 jersey in his honor.
The club has also revealed plans to build a permanent memorial sculpture at Anfield to celebrate Jota’s legacy.
The Portuguese Football Federation shared a photograph of Jota with the UEFA Nations League trophy and stated: “Your legacy continues to inspire us. Forever our number 21. Our hearts, thoughts, and prayers remain with your family.”
Jota scored 14 goals in 49 appearances for Portugal and secured two UEFA Nations League titles during his international career.
