Pulisic Shines as Milan…

Despite battling the flu, Christian Pulisic made a remarkable impact off the bench on Monday, scoring two crucial goals in the second half to propel AC Milan to a thrilling 3-2 comeback victory over Torino, helping his team reclaim the top spot in Serie A.

Reflecting on his performance, Pulisic shared with Sky Sports Italia, “Two days ago I felt really unwell, but today I was much better. I’m delighted to have been able to contribute to the team’s effort. We were unsure about my participation yesterday, but I felt improved this morning. While the goals are great, the most important thing was securing the win.”

With title challengers Napoli and Internazionale both winning over the weekend, Milan needed all three points to return to the leadership position. However, they found themselves trailing 2-0 within 17 minutes due to a goal from Nikola Vlasic and a penalty converted by Duván Zapata.

Fortunately, Adrien Rabiot ignited the comeback with a stunning long-range strike, setting the stage for Pulisic, who entered the game in the 67th minute to score twice, clinching the 3-2 win and positioning Milan level on points with Napoli, but ahead on goal difference.

Assistant coach Marco Landucci commended Pulisic, stating, “We must also commend the medical staff because he was really unwell, yet he contributed immensely.” Landucci stepped in for head coach Massimiliano Allegri, who watched from a box due to a suspension.

Landucci also noted, “[Pulisic] is a powerful player; he maintains a calm demeanor in the locker room, but on the field, he has a fierce attitude and is a precise shooter in front of goal.”

Pulisic will play a pivotal role for the United States in the upcoming World Cup next summer, as the team awaits the draw on Friday to learn their group-stage opponents, which include Paraguay, Australia, and the winner of a UEFA qualifying playoff.

For now, the U.S. captain is focused on maintaining his impressive form in Serie A, where he is currently tied for the league lead with seven goals following his brace on Monday.

“This season, Milan hasn’t been dominating games as much,” Pulisic remarked. “I still need to find my rhythm, but the team is performing well this year. We’re taking it one game at a time.”
