Grêmio has received a formal bid from Premier League club Aston Villa for their 19-year-old forward, Alysson Edward, according to ESPN sources.

The two clubs are currently negotiating terms, with the latest offer reported to be approximately £10.4 million ($14 million).

Grêmio has requested that at least half of the transfer fee, amounting to £5.2 million ($7 million), be paid upfront in cash, while the remaining balance would be settled in instalments.

Reports indicate that the negotiations also include a potential agreement for Grêmio to retain a percentage of any future transfer fee for Alysson.

The striker’s exit is viewed as “critical” for financial planning in 2026, suggesting that the transfer is likely to be finalized soon.

Alysson has been with Grêmio since the under-11 level and made his senior team debut last year, with a contract that runs until the end of 2029.

This season, he has featured in 39 matches for the senior team, netting two goals and providing three assists, in addition to playing for the under-20 squad.

His standout moment came with a goal during the 3-2 victory against arch-rivals Internacional in Brazil’s Serie A in September.

Alysson has also represented Brazil at the U16 level, scoring three goals in three appearances.
