Inter Miami Signs Former…

Inter Miami has secured the signing of former Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United defender Sergio Reguilón, who has signed a two-year contract running through December 2027, with an option to extend until the end of 2028.

Reguilón, who recently became a free agent after leaving Premier League side Tottenham, will join Inter Miami in hopes of stepping into the role left by the recently retired Jordi Alba. He will utilize an international roster spot as part of the team.

“It’s a very ambitious project; a winning club that is doing things the right way, and that’s what attracted me: coming here to keep winning and competing,” Reguilón stated. “My goal is to continue winning, pursue the trophies we’re missing, and win everything possible here.”

Having played previously in LaLiga, Reguilón has made 56 appearances in the Spanish league. His past clubs include Real Madrid, Atlético Madrid, and Sevilla.

Reguilón was part of the Sevilla squad that clinched the UEFA Europa League trophy in the 2019-20 season. He has also amassed a total of 81 Premier League appearances during his time with Tottenham, Manchester United, and Brentford FC.

This represents Reguilón’s inaugural signing for Inter Miami during this transfer window, which follows their MLS Cup victory on December 6.

As the roster continues to develop ahead of the 2026 season, the club will be making year-end decisions announced on December 11.

Inter Miami has also confirmed ongoing negotiations with Luis Suárez, whose one-year contract extension expired following the season’s conclusion.

Team co-owner Jorge Mas has indicated that Suárez will have the final say regarding his future with Inter Miami, leaving the door open for him to agree to another contract.

“Luis deserves to be able to make that decision and leave through the front door, celebrated as he should be by the club,” Mas said to reporters. “If he decides to remain with the club for another year, that would be fantastic. I would love to see Suárez continue.”

The club also shared that discussions are ongoing with players Allen Obando, Rocco Ríos Novo, Baltasar Rodríguez, and Tadeo Allende, while bidding farewell to Fafà Picault, William Yarbrough, Ryan Sailor, and Marcelo Weigandt.
