Pep Guardiola has extended an invitation to Keith Andrews to meet at the café at Manchester City‘s training facility to “discuss” the comments made by the Brentford manager regarding the incident involving Abdukodir Khusanov, who some believe should have received a red card during Manchester City’s Carabao Cup quarterfinal on Wednesday.
Khusanov was given just a yellow card by referee Sam Barrott after fouling Kevin Schade when the player seemed poised to score.
Manchester City ultimately secured a 2-0 victory, advancing to the semifinals.
In his analysis, Andrews referred to the incident as a “big moment” and indicated that he believed Khusanov should have been shown a red card.
“It was a significant moment; around 15 or 16 minutes into the match,” Andrews stated.
“I normally defend officials, but I believe they got this one wrong, and the reasoning that it was too far from goal does not sit well with me.”
“If he goes through, it presents a clear goal-scoring opportunity.”
Following their game at the Etihad Stadium, Brentford will remain in Manchester to prepare for their upcoming Premier League match against Wolves at Molineux on Saturday.
They are expected to utilize City’s CFA training ground for their preparations.

Guardiola, upon hearing Andrews’ critique of Khusanov’s tackle during his post-match press conference, invited him to discuss it over coffee the following day.
“I invite him to the café at the training ground tomorrow, and we will talk about it,” Guardiola remarked.
Manchester City’s win over Brentford was solidified with goals from Rayan Cherki and Savinho either side of half-time.
Cherki’s goal, a stunning shot from outside the box, found its way into the top corner. While Guardiola praised the strike, he expressed disappointment with Cherki’s overall performance before he was substituted in the 66th minute.
“We are fortunate to have players who can score such goals,” said Guardiola. “However, after that, he did not perform well, and in the second half, Rayan did not fulfill his defensive responsibilities.”
