NY Red Bulls Acquire…

HARRISON, N.J. — U.S. men’s national team winger Cade Cowell has returned to Major League Soccer, joining the New York Red Bulls on a one-year loan from Chivas Guadalajara.

The Red Bulls have the option to acquire the 22-year-old Cowell’s rights permanently at the conclusion of the loan. They exchanged $50,000 in 2026 General Allocation Money with San Jose for Cowell’s MLS discovery priority.

Cowell, who debuted for the U.S. national team in 2021, has netted one goal in 11 international matches, with his sole goal coming against Trinidad and Tobago during the 2023 CONCACAF Gold Cup. He holds dual citizenship in the U.S. and Mexico.

Before joining Chivas in January 2024, Cowell played for the Earthquakes from 2019 to 2023, where he made 104 regular-season appearances and scored 10 goals. During his time with Chivas, he achieved a tally of 12 goals, including eight in Liga MX, three in the CONCACAF Champions League, and one in the Leagues Cup.
