AC Milan is interested in bringing back Thiago Silva during the upcoming winter transfer window, according to sources who spoke with ESPN Brasil on Friday.
This week, Silva, 41, became a free agent after mutually agreeing to terminate his contract with Fluminense, despite having six months remaining on his deal.
The experienced defender returned to Fluminense last May following his stint with Chelsea, where he was a regular starter.
Silva has expressed his intention to continue playing and recently stated that he has not ruled out the possibility of representing Brazil at next year’s World Cup, despite not being selected for the national team since 2022.
The former captain of Brazil is expected to make a decision about his future shortly. He is eager to return to Europe to be nearer to his family, with a move to England being his preferred option, considering his family resides in London.
Two of his sons are part of Chelsea’s youth teams, and his eldest son, Isago, 17, recently signed his first professional contract with the club.

Silva is also contemplating a return to AC Milan, where he is held in high regard. The former Brazil captain won one league title in three seasons with the Rossoneri before moving to Paris Saint-Germain in 2012.
AC Milan seeks to bolster their defense during the winter transfer window. Additionally, another former club, FC Porto, has also expressed interest in Silva, according to sources. Silva joined Porto in 2004, although he only played for their reserve team.
