Sources: Madrids Endrick…

On Monday, Lyon and Real Madrid finalized a six-month loan agreement for striker Endrick, as reported by sources to ESPN. The deal does not include a permanent transfer option.

Following weeks of negotiations, both clubs confirmed the agreement on Monday. The Brazilian striker is set to arrive in France on Wednesday to complete his medical examination and formalize his contract, sources noted.

Lyon is set to pay €1 million to Real Madrid to assist with the player’s salary, and Endrick will wear the No. 9 jersey, sources indicated.

The French club secured the signing against competition from several European teams, marking a significant achievement for both Lyon and Ligue 1.

At just 19 years old, Endrick was eager to join Lyon from the outset. While he initially aspired to play for a Champions League club, he was willing to accept the opportunity to compete in the Europa League with Lyon.

Sources shared that the Brazilian forward was pleased with his conversations with Lyon’s manager, Paulo Fonseca, who communicates in Portuguese. He will also join fellow Brazilian players like Emerson and Abner, aiding his adjustment to the new team.

The club’s long-standing success with Brazilian players influenced his decision, as he hopes to follow in the footsteps of legends like Lucas Paquetá, Bruno Guimarães, Sonny Anderson, Juninho, and Fred.

Endrick was not part of Xabi Alonso’s plans for the current season, logging only 11 minutes in La Liga during November against Valencia, with just another 11 minutes in the Champions League against Manchester City.
