Messis Miami Set to Tour…

Inter Miami CF is set to resume play in 2026 with a preseason tour across South America, visiting Colombia, Peru, and Ecuador in preparation for the upcoming Major League Soccer season.

The team’s friendlies will kick off on January 24 at Estadio Alejandro Villanueva, where they will compete against Alianza Lima, the second most successful club in Peruvian football, boasting 25 First Division titles.

The Herons will then head to Colombia a week later for a match against Atlético Nacional at Estadio Atanasio Girardot, before concluding the tour with a game against Barcelona de Guayaquil on February 7 at Estadio Monumental Banco Pichincha.

Atlético Nacional, known as Los Verdolagas, holds the record for the most trophies in Colombian football, including 18 First Division titles and two Copa Libertadores championships.

The game against Barcelona de Guayaquil will be particularly notable, marking Inter Miami’s first trip to Ecuador to take on a club with the highest number of Ecuadorian top-flight league titles, totaling 16.

Following their South American tour, Inter Miami will return to Florida to get ready for the opening match of the MLS season on February 21, where they will face LAFC.

Javier Mascherano’s squad is coming off a remarkable 2025 season, having secured their first MLS Cup with a 3-1 victory over the Vancouver Whitecaps at Chase Stadium on December 6. Prior to this, Miami clinched the 2023 Leagues Cup crown and won the Supporters’ Shield in 2024, breaking the record for the most points in a single season.

Star player Lionel Messi, who joined the team in the summer of 2023, led the league in scoring for 2025, earning his inaugural MLS Golden Boot, and was also awarded the league MVP for the second time.
