Manchester City is reportedly in advanced negotiations to acquire Antoine Semenyo, according to sources from ESPN.
The club aims to finalize an agreement for the Bournemouth winger at the onset of the January transfer window, which opens on Thursday.
Discussions with Semenyo’s representatives are scheduled for this week, and Bournemouth has been notified of City’s plans to trigger the 25-year-old’s release clause.
Semenyo is available for £65 million ($87.6 million) until January 10.
The striker has drawn interest from other clubs, including Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham, and Arsenal. However, ESPN sources indicate that City is at the forefront in the pursuit of his signature.
Club officials have intensified negotiations and reached out to Bournemouth after discovering Semenyo’s inclination to join the Etihad Stadium.
Bournemouth is scheduled to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday, just before the January transfer window officially opens.

If Semenyo joins, it may lead to a January exit for Oscar Bobb.
Claudio Echeverri has had his loan deal with Bayer Leverkusen terminated, and sources say he’s likely to be loaned out again, with a temporary transfer to City’s sister club Girona being the current preference.
