Conor Gallagher is reportedly moving to Tottenham Hotspur from Atlético Madrid, according to sources affiliated with the LaLiga team.
The 25-year-old midfielder, previously of Chelsea, is expected to finalize a permanent transfer to Spurs, concluding a 17-month stint in Spain.
Gallagher has struggled to secure a consistent starting position with Atlético, making only four starts in LaLiga this season.
He joined Atlético from Chelsea in August 2024, following a lengthy transfer negotiation that summer.
During the 2024-25 season, Atlético finished third in LaLiga and was knocked out of the Copa del Rey semifinals and the Champions League round of 16.
This season, Gallagher has faced increased competition for playing time due to Atlético’s acquisitions of midfielders Johnny Cardoso, Álex Baena, Thiago Almada, and Nico González last summer.
Despite interest from Aston Villa, Gallagher appears set on joining Spurs, sources indicate.
