Glasner Announces…

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has announced that he will depart the club at the conclusion of the current season.

During a news conference on Friday, Glasner confirmed that he would not be extending his contract, putting an end to months of speculation regarding his future.

“I made my decision a few months ago,” Glasner stated.

“I had a conversation with chairman Steve Parish during the October international break, and after a long dinner discussion, I informed him that I would not be signing a new contract with Crystal Palace.”

Glasner expressed that he is pleased to provide clarity for everyone at the club and also mentioned that captain Marc Guéhi is in the “final stages” of transferring to Manchester City.

Glasner continued, “I informed the team today as well, as I believe it is crucial to have clarity moving forward. I don’t want players to be left wondering, ‘What is going on?’

“Our schedule has been packed, which is why we waited to make this announcement, but both Steve and I want what is best for Crystal Palace.”

The Austrian manager joined Crystal Palace in 2024 from Eintracht Frankfurt, in a swift decision by Parish following Roy Hodgson’s departure.

He initially signed a contract that was set to expire at the end of the 2025-26 season, which will now conclude without renewal.

Under Glasner’s leadership, the Eagles secured the FA Cup in 2025, marking the club’s first major trophy.

Speculation about Glasner’s future had circulated since the beginning of the season, with Parish expressing in October that he “would love” for him to stay.

Crystal Palace has not yet provided comments regarding his successor.
