The captains of Manchester City have announced their decision to refund nearly 400 supporters who traveled to Norway for the 3-1 loss against Bodø/Glimt in the Champions League.

In a joint statement, players Bernardo Silva, Rúben Dias, Erling Haaland, and Rodri emphasized that it was “the least they could do” for the fans who ventured to the Arctic Circle following a disappointing performance from Pep Guardiola’s squad on Tuesday.

The refund for the 374 tickets will amount to nearly £10,000 ($13,400).

Addressing the supporters, the leadership group stated: “Our supporters mean everything to us. We understand the sacrifices our fans make when they travel around the world to support us both home and away, and we will never take that for granted. They are the best fans in the world.

“We also acknowledge the extensive travel undertaken by fans who supported us in freezing conditions during a tough evening on the field. Covering the cost of these tickets for those who traveled to Bodø is the least we can do.

“We’re prepared to fight on Saturday against Wolves, and again next Wednesday when we face Galatasaray in front of our wonderful fans at the Etihad.”
