Max Dowman, 16, pledges…

Max Dowman has secured a pre-agreement to sign his first professional contract with Arsenal in December, coinciding with his 17th birthday.

Dowman’s ascent through the youth ranks of the north London club has been remarkable, as he became the youngest scorer in UEFA Youth League history at just 14, and later the youngest player to start for Arsenal at 15.

Although currently sidelined due to injury, Dowman has made significant contributions to Mikel Arteta’s first-team squad earlier this season. His scholarship agreement confirms his commitment to Arsenal’s future.

“This means everything to me and my family,” Dowman expressed.

“Supporting Arsenal has been a part of my life, and I truly feel at home here. I’m grateful to my coaches, teammates, and especially my family and friends, who have helped me reach this point.

“I’ve been with the club my entire life, so this opportunity is incredibly meaningful to me. The clear pathway at Arsenal, with players like Bukayo [Saka], Myles [Lewis-Skelly], and Ethan [Nwaneri] inspiring me, is truly remarkable.

“Having role models nearby who have gone through similar journeys is amazing. I’m excited to continue working hard on my development.”
