Arsenal secured their first major final appearance in six years with a 1-0 victory over Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday, advancing to the final of the Carabao Cup with a 4-2 aggregate score.
Former Chelsea player Kai Havertz booked Arsenal’s spot at Wembley next month by rounding goalkeeper Robert Sánchez and scoring deep into stoppage time.
After suffering a home defeat in the first leg of the semifinal last month, Chelsea managed to contain their London rivals for the majority of the return fixture. However, Liam Rosenior’s team struggled to create chances that could have leveled the aggregate score in a match that featured limited goal-scoring opportunities until Havertz’s decisive strike.

As they gear up for what could be a remarkable season, Arsenal will face the winner of the other semifinal clash between Manchester City and Newcastle United on March 22, with Manchester City leading 2-0 going into Wednesday’s second leg.
Arsenal seeks to claim their third League Cup title, previously winning in 1987 and 1993, and has finished as runners-up six times, with their last defeat coming against City in 2018.
Since lifting the FA Cup in 2020 during manager Mikel Arteta’s inaugural season, Arsenal has not clinched a major trophy. Currently, Arteta’s squad leads the Premier League, aiming to win the English championship for the first time since 2004, and they topped the Champions League standings with eight consecutive victories.
Additionally, Arsenal has progressed to the fourth round of the FA Cup.
