In a stunning debut for Ademola Lookman, he scored for Atlético Madrid during their 5-0 victory against Real Betis on Thursday, propelling Diego Simeone’s squad into the semifinals of the Copa del Rey.
Supporting Lookman on the scoresheet were Dávid Hancko, Giuliano Simeone, Antoine Griezmann, and Thiago Almada, as Atlético reached the final four for the third consecutive season.
The team now aims to secure its first Copa final appearance since their last triumph in the 2012-13 season.
The semifinal draw, which also features Barcelona, Athletic Club, and Real Sociedad, will take place on Friday.

Hancko opened the scoring early in the 12th minute, with Giuliano Simeone doubling the lead in the 30th. Lookman then added his debut goal on a breakaway in the 37th minute. Griezmann found the net in the 62nd minute with an assist from Lookman, while Almada wrapped up the scoring in the 83rd minute.
Lookman, recently acquired from Atalanta, left the club after citing dissatisfaction and broken promises regarding his treatment.
Atlético and Betis will clash again on Sunday in LaLiga, with Atlético hosting the match. Currently, Atlético sits third in the league, while Betis is in fifth place, trailing Atlético by 10 points.
