The agent of Endrick has confirmed that the young forward will not be staying at Lyon beyond the current summer season. Tiago Freitas, Endrick’s agent, stated, “the decision has already been made” for the Brazilian star to return to Real Madrid.
At just 19 years old, Endrick has made a notable impact during his six-month loan at Lyon, scoring five goals in his first six matches.
Despite Lyon’s interest in extending his stay, Freitas reiterated in an interview with Marca, “Endrick will return to Real Madrid at the end of the season. He’s currently on loan [at Lyon], and he will officially be a Real Madrid player again once the season concludes.”
Endrick is aiming to secure a place in Brazil’s squad for the upcoming World Cup. He noted that he sought advice from Carlo Ancelotti, his former coach at Real Madrid, prior to making the decision to join Lyon on loan.
After appearing in 37 matches for Los Blancos during the previous season, Endrick saw limited playtime under Xabi Alonso, featuring only three times.
“Endrick has adapted well,” Freitas mentioned. “He scored in his first Champions League match, his first LaLiga game, and his first cup match.
“Naturally, for an 18-year-old player at a club filled with top-tier talent, getting minutes can be challenging.
“He also missed the preseason, didn’t participate in the club World Cup, and was sidelined with a hamstring injury for several months. Such circumstances can significantly affect a player at a club like Real Madrid.”
When asked about concerns regarding Endrick’s playing time upon his return to the Bernabéu, Freitas responded, “I cannot predict what will happen down the line. Endrick is focused solely on the upcoming game; it’s always about the next match.”
