Tottenham Finalizing Igor…

According to sources, Tottenham is on the verge of appointing Igor Tudor as interim head coach for the remainder of the season.

The discussions gained momentum over the last 24 hours as Spurs intensified their search following the dismissal of Thomas Frank on Monday, after just eight months in the role.

Sources indicate that Tottenham narrowed their options to a select few candidates and consider Tudor a top choice due to his extensive coaching experience, most recently with a brief seven-month tenure at Juventus.

The 47-year-old has verbally accepted the position, although some contract details still need to be finalized.

Sources have informed ESPN that Tottenham is optimistic that Tudor will be in place by Monday, coinciding with the players’ return from a five-day break. Their upcoming match is against north London rivals Arsenal at home on February 22.

Tudor parted ways with Juventus in October after an eight-match winless streak and has previously managed several clubs across Europe, including Hajduk Split (twice), Udinese (twice), Marseille, and Lazio.

Additionally, reports suggest that Tudor, a two-time Serie A champion as a player with Juventus, may have the opportunity to secure the position permanently should he succeed in revitalizing the team.

Currently, Tottenham sits in 16th place, just five points clear of the Premier League relegation zone, with a Champions League round-of-16 tie scheduled for next month.

Mauricio Pochettino, the USMNT coach and former Spurs manager, is a key candidate for a permanent role and is likely to be well-received by fans, though his future remains uncertain post-tournament.

Roberto De Zerbi is currently unemployed after departing from Marseille, while Oliver Glasner and Andoni Iraola are nearing the end of their contracts with Crystal Palace and AFC Bournemouth, respectively.

Prior to appointing Frank, Spurs also considered Fulham manager Marco Silva.
