Álvaro Arbeloa has announced that Kylian Mbappé is fit and ready to play for Real Madrid in Saturday’s LaLiga match against Real Sociedad.
Mbappé, who has netted 38 goals this season, had been working out in the gym for the past two days, away from his teammates, leading to concerns about his participation in the upcoming match at the Bernabéu.
Madrid enters the match just one point behind league leaders Barcelona, while Real Sociedad boasts an unbeaten streak of 11 games under new coach Pellegrino Matarazzo.
“Yes, Kylian is fit,” Madrid manager Arbeloa stated during a news conference on Friday. “He has trained with the team and is available for tomorrow’s match.”
Recently, Mbappé has been dealing with a recurring left-knee issue that caused him to miss significant matches, including a pivotal clash against Manchester City in the Champions League, and to have a limited presence in the Spanish Supercopa. He practiced indoors at Madrid’s Valdebebas training facility on Wednesday and Thursday.
However, the France international rejoined his teammates for Friday’s outdoor training session ahead of the game against La Real.
Real Madrid has won their last seven LaLiga matches, but they faced challenges in other tournaments, having lost 4-2 to Benfica last month, which knocked them out of the Champions League’s top eight.
The club also made headlines this week by announcing that they had reached an agreement with UEFA to end a five-year dispute regarding the breakaway European Super League.
“The club has issued a statement, and I refer you to that,” Arbeloa commented. “This agreement is beneficial for football.”
Amidst speculation regarding Dani Carvajal‘s future, as he has played only 27 minutes under Arbeloa thus far, the manager said, “I prefer to speak with each player individually, including Carvajal. We sit down every week to discuss their thoughts. I’m committed to helping him return to form.”
