Bukayo Saka has secured a new contract with Arsenal, extending his stay until 2030, according to ESPN sources.
His previous contract was set to run until 2027, but on Thursday, Saka officially signed new terms, a development initially reported by ESPN back in January.
As an academy graduate, Saka is the player who has logged the most minutes under manager Mikel Arteta.
He has evolved into a pivotal figure for his boyhood club and is also a consistent member of the England national team. Since making his first-team debut in 2018, he has scored 78 goals in 297 matches for Arsenal.
“I’m feeling fantastic. It’s an incredible moment for my family and me. I’m filled with immense joy to be continuing my journey at this club. Committing to Arsenal was a straightforward choice for me, and I’m hoping to win everything here,” he expressed in an interview with club media.
“Reflecting on my journey, from where it all started to my current position, along with the team’s evolution, is truly special.
“I believe the upcoming years will be the ones where we achieve success, win trophies, and make history for this club. We are back where we should be, competing for everything.”
Saka aims for success with Arsenal, which is still competing for the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, and Carabao Cup titles this season. So far, the 2020 FA Cup is the only trophy he has lifted during his time at the club.
He has also become a vital member of the leadership group at Arsenal, frequently donning the captain’s armband this season.
At 24 years old, Saka joins fellow players William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhães in committing his future to Arsenal with new long-term contracts in the past year.
