Former US Open tennis champion Sloane Stephens and ex-U.S. men’s national soccer player Jozy Altidore have decided to part ways after four years of marriage.
Stephens, the 2017 US Open champion, shared the news of their separation in an Instagram story on Saturday.
In her post, she stated, “Jozy and I have decided to end our marriage. I am navigating this transition with peace and mutual respect, and kindly ask for privacy during this time. Thank you for your love, understanding, and continued support.”
Stephens, age 32, was also the runner-up at the 2018 French Open. Altidore, 36, represented the U.S. men’s soccer team from 2007 to 2019, earning 42 goals in 115 appearances, and enjoyed a lengthy career in Major League Soccer and abroad.
