Kilts on the Pitch:…

Scotland supporters have received the green light to sport their sporrans during the team’s matches at this summer’s World Cup.

The tournament’s regulations initially allowed only specific types of bags inside the stadiums, categorizing the traditional pouch worn in front of the kilt as too large for compliance.

This led to worries that fans wouldn’t be able to wear their sporrans at matches against Haiti and Morocco in Boston, as well as Brazil in Miami.

However, constructive discussions between FIFA and the Scottish Football Association have led to a favorable outcome for the thousands of Tartan Army fans expected to travel to the United States.

A spokesperson for the SFA remarked: “FIFA has confirmed that sporrans will be allowed entry into the stadiums, following the standard search and inspection processes, and will work closely with the Scottish FA to train matchday staff to ensure a warm welcome for fans in Boston and Miami.

“The ticketing and membership team at the Scottish FA is actively engaged in ongoing discussions with the tournament hosts to ensure Scotland fans receive a warm reception at all venues, just as they have around the globe.”
