Ronaldo Acquires 25% Stake…

Cristiano Ronaldo has purchased a 25% stake in UD Almería, a club in Spain’s second division.

The specifics of the deal, conducted through Ronaldo’s CR7 Sports Investments firm, have not been made public. However, it is viewed as a long-term investment strategy by the football star.

“I have always aspired to contribute to football beyond my playing career,” Ronaldo remarked in a statement.

“UD Almería has a solid foundation and substantial growth potential. I am eager to collaborate with the team to assist in the club’s new growth phase.”

In May 2025, a Saudi investment group took over UD Almería.

Having celebrated his 41st birthday on February 5, Ronaldo has voiced his intention to own a football club upon retiring.

The former Real Madrid star recently extended his contract with the Saudi Pro League team Al Nassr until June 2027 and is anticipated to captain Portugal in his record sixth World Cup this summer.

UD Almería president Mohamed al Khereiji is excited about having the five-time Ballon d’Or winner involved.

“He is widely regarded as the best player,” Al Khereiji stated. “He has a deep understanding of the Spanish leagues and recognizes the potential of what we are building, both in terms of the team and our youth academy.”

After being relegated to the second division in April 2024, Almería is currently vying for promotion back to La Liga, sitting third in the table, just two points behind leaders Racing Santander after 27 matches.
