Fabregas wants little…

Cesc Fabregas has called on Como supporters to transform their Giuseppe Sinigaglia Stadium into a “mini Bombonera” for Tuesday’s Coppa Italia match against Inter Milan.

Fabregas’ team will confront the Serie A leaders in the first leg of their semifinal, and the former Arsenal midfielder hopes fans will generate an atmosphere reminiscent of Boca Juniors’ legendary stadium in Buenos Aires.

“This is a crucial moment in the season, and we must treat this match with the significance it warrants,” Fabregas said on the club’s official website.

“The stadium is expected to resemble a little Bombonera [on Tuesday]. Inter is the toughest team in the league, having maintained that status for years, and they have an abundance of talented players.”

“We aim to deliver an impressive performance, keeping their strengths and a few weaknesses in mind. Our goal is to exploit those weaknesses.”

“We hope to play well. It’s important to take things one match at a time, considering this season is lengthy, and we’ll see how many victories we can secure until the end.”

Como is currently in fifth place in Serie A, just three points off fourth-placed Roma and a Champions League qualifying position, following Saturday’s 3-1 victory against Lecce.

Inter has bounced back from their recent exit in the Champions League, where they lost 5-2 on aggregate to Bodo/Glimt, by securing a 2-0 win against Genoa at the San Siro, maintaining a 10-point lead at the top of the table.

The Nerazzurri will still be without their captain, Lautaro Martínez, due to a calf injury, but Italy defender Alessandro Bastoni is back after serving a suspension.

For Como, Martin Baturina (ankle) and Jayden Addai (Achilles) missed the recent victory, but Assane Diao has returned from a long injury layoff and is available for selection.
