Luis Díaz netted one goal and assisted another as Bayern Munich triumphed over Borussia Mönchengladbach with a score of 4-1 on Friday, stretching their lead at the top of the Bundesliga to 14 points ahead of second-placed Borussia Dortmund.
With Harry Kane sidelined due to injury, Nicolas Jackson stepped in as the center-forward for Bayern, marking one of seven changes made from the previous week’s Der Klassiker victory over Dortmund.
It was Colombian star Díaz who ignited the scoring frenzy.
He delivered a powerful volley to open the scoring in the 33rd minute, before providing a clever pass to set up Konrad Laimer for Bayern’s second goal just 12 minutes later.
Bayern’s task became even more manageable when Rocco Reitz was sent off for a foul on Jackson shortly after the second half commenced.

Jamal Musiala calmly converted the ensuing penalty to secure his first goal of the season, while Jackson capped off his return with a fourth goal 11 minutes from the final whistle.
In a moment of consolation for Gladbach, Wael Mohya, who is just 17, found the back of the net in the closing moments, becoming the youngest goalscorer in the club’s history.
The only concern for defending champions Bayern was the halftime exit of Manuel Neuer, who had just returned from injury. The severity of his issue was not immediately clear.
Meanwhile, Gladbach remains in 12th place with 25 points, only three points above the relegation zone.
