Yoro: Man United Stars…

Leny Yoro revealed that the Manchester United players were eager for Casemiro to continue at Old Trafford before the midfielder’s announcement about his departure at the end of the season.

Following his goal in the 3-1 victory against Aston Villa on Sunday, United supporters chanted “one more year” in support of the Brazilian.

Although sources have indicated that a change of heart is improbable, Yoro shared that the team had hoped for the club to retain the 34-year-old.

“Everybody wanted him to stay; he is a player who is extremely important for us,” Yoro stated.

“In the dressing room, he brings a level of experience that no one else possesses on the team.

“He has won everything, which has significantly aided us both in matches and off the pitch.”

Manchester United does have the option to activate a one-year extension in Casemiro’s contract; however, it was mutually agreed in January that he would depart in the summer.

Even though he has played a pivotal role in the team’s resurgence under Michael Carrick, the United head coach suggested that the decision is unlikely to be reversed.

“I think once something is decided, it simplifies matters and everyone involved understands the situation better,” Carrick commented.

“The impact he’s had has been fantastic, especially since I’ve been here, and his influence during crucial moments and with key goals has been significant.”
