Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has confirmed that Marcus Rashford is back to full fitness after facing some recent fitness challenges.
However, Flick mentioned that it’s not the appropriate time to address the England striker’s future, as his loan from Manchester United is set to expire in June.
The 28-year-old has seen limited playing time lately, sitting out as an unused substitute in Barcelona’s last two victories against Sevilla and Newcastle United.
On the subject of Rashford’s absence from the lineup, Flick stated, “Marcus has had some problems in the past days.”
“But now he’s at 100%, and he is an option for Sunday [against Rayo Vallecano].”
Barcelona president Joan Laporta recently indicated that the club is willing to explore extending Rashford’s stay but hopes to negotiate a loan extension with United.
According to ESPN, Manchester United is firm on their €30 million asking price, which is stipulated in the agreement for Barcelona to sign Rashford permanently this summer.
Flick noted, “I need all my players until the end of the season; we cannot predict what will happen after.” He added, “There is time. This year also features a World Cup. I trust my players. Rashford and [teammate Joao] Cancelo both bring quality.”
“We will discuss things at the end of the season and evaluate. Now isn’t the time to declare: ‘I want this player or I don’t.’ Anything could happen.”
Rashford has contributed 10 goals and 13 assists in 38 appearances for Barcelona this season, though his playing time has diminished since Raphinha’s return from injury.

Rashford may be considered by Flick for the match against Rayo at Spotify Camp Nou on Sunday. Flick also shared positive news regarding goalkeeper Joan García, who is fit to return after being substituted during the midweek Champions League match against Newcastle.
While Eric García was also withdrawn in that game, Flick indicated he will only be available for bench duty this weekend.
Barcelona, who are four points ahead of Real Madrid at the top of LaLiga, are still without key players including Jules Koundé, Alejandro Balde, Andreas Christensen, and Frenkie de Jong.
