Chelsea manager devastated…

Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior expressed his disappointment following the team’s 3-0 defeat against Everton, labeling it “the most disappointing evening so far.”

Chelsea struggled to compete, being outmatched in a game that showcased Hill Dickinson Stadium’s finest performance to date.

The loss marks Chelsea’s fourth defeat in just ten days, including an 8-2 aggregate loss to reigning Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain. This represents the club’s worst losing streak since April to May 2023 and their first three-game stretch without scoring across all competitions since September 2023.

Despite the setbacks, Rosenior found solace in the fact that both Manchester United and Liverpool dropped points in the battle for a top-four finish.

“It’s a difficult time for the club right now given the manner of our defeats in the Champions League and the last two matches,” said Rosenior, who looks forward to the upcoming international break as a chance to regroup.

“My role is painful. Losing games of football stings no matter your position.”

“This evening was disappointing considering we talked about not conceding easy goals and maintaining control during games. Unfortunately, we failed to achieve that, resulting in a match that fell far below our expectations.”

“Moving forward, we’re just one point away from the Champions League spot. We need to persist with our efforts.”

Everton, powered by two goals from Beto and a stunning effort from Iliman Ndiaye, managed their first back-to-back home league wins of the season, putting manager David Moyes in an optimistic mood about the prospect of European football.

Just three points behind Liverpool in fifth place, which is likely to qualify for Champions League next season, Moyes reflected on the unexpected opportunity.

“I’d like to think it’s a realistic possibility; I’m trying to be more positive than usual, but for Everton to be in contention for Europe is remarkable, whether it’s for the Conference League or Champions League,” he stated.

“A year ago, we were fighting to escape relegation, facing financial challenges with new ownership and numerous players out of contract. To find ourselves in this position now is fantastic.”

“I can only imagine the excitement it would generate among the fans if we were to achieve this.”

The victory represents Everton’s largest win over Chelsea in the Premier League. Regarding the match, Moyes noted, “Our goalkeeper, Jordan Pickford, made several remarkable saves that could have changed the game. However, it’s tough to argue that we didn’t deserve the win.”

“Chelsea were playing in the Champions League last 16, indicating their quality. We may have taken advantage of their midweek match fatigue.”
