FA charge Maguire…

Manchester United defender Harry Maguire faces an FA charge following his red card during a match against Bournemouth.

The charge is for “improper conduct” related to Maguire’s alleged behavior towards the fourth official, Matt Donohue, after his dismissal.

The England international received a red card from referee Stuart Attwell in the second half, which allowed Junior Kroupi to score an equalizing penalty as Bournemouth secured a 2-2 draw at the Vitality Stadium.

A statement from the FA released on Wednesday indicated: “Harry Maguire has been charged after being sent off in the 78th minute of Manchester United’s Premier League match against Bournemouth on March 20. It is alleged that the defender acted in an improper manner and/or used abusive words and/or behavior towards the fourth official following his dismissal. Harry Maguire has until April 2 to respond.”

Maguire’s red card will result in an automatic one-match ban, making him unavailable for when Leeds United visits Old Trafford on April 13.

Manchester United hopes to have Lisandro Martínez back from injury to team up with Leny Yoro in central defense.

Meanwhile, Matthijs de Ligt remains unavailable as he continues to recover from a back injury sustained in November.
