Dembélé Shines as PSG…

Ousmane Dembélé netted two goals in the first half, aiding Paris Saint-Germain in their 3-1 victory over Toulouse. This win allowed PSG to extend their lead in Ligue 1 to four points on Friday.

The match was rescheduled to give PSG additional recovery time ahead of their Champions League quarterfinal against Liverpool, set for next Wednesday at the Parc des Princes.

PSG entered the game with a remarkable tally of 12 goals from their last three matches. They took the lead midway through the first half when Dembélé unleashed a stunning volley that found the top corner from the edge of the penalty area.

However, just four minutes later, Toulouse’s goalkeeper Matvei Safonov failed to secure a tricky in-swinging corner, allowing Rasmus Nicolaisen to head in the rebound and equalize.

Dembélé quickly regained PSG’s lead 12 minutes before halftime, converting a corner kick that was headed on by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. The former Dortmund and Barcelona striker calmly side-footed the ball into the net.

Although he had a third goal ruled out for offside in a predominantly PSG-controlled second half, the team finally added a third goal in stoppage time when substitute Gonçalo Ramos scored with a right-footed shot from 25 meters.

This victory propelled PSG four points ahead of Lens, who will face fifth-placed Lille on Saturday for the Derby du Nord.

Toulouse remained in ninth position.
