Declan Rice has provided Arsenal with a notable injury boost ahead of their Champions League quarterfinal opener against Sporting Lisbon.
The England international missed his team’s surprising FA Cup defeat against Southampton but was back in training with his teammates at London Colney on Monday.
In another positive update for Mikel Arteta’s squad, defender Gabriel, who had to exit the match at St Mary’s due to a knee injury on Saturday night, also participated in training.
Leandro Trossard, who did not travel to the south coast, seems set to join the squad in Portugal after successfully completing training at London Colney. Conversely, Bukayo Saka, who withdrew from England’s recent friendly against Japan alongside Rice, did not take part in training.
As Arsenal travels to Portugal on Easter Monday, they aim to avoid a third consecutive defeat following their Carabao Cup final loss to Manchester City and their exit from the FA Cup at the hands of Southampton.
