AFC Bournemouth midfielder Tyler Adams is poised to make his return from a quadriceps injury for the Cherries’ upcoming match against the top of the Premier League, Arsenal, on Saturday.
The 27-year-old midfielder, who captained the United States men’s national team during the 2022 World Cup, missed Bournemouth’s last two matches as well as two friendly games for the U.S. during the recent international break. Adams is working hard to be fit as he aims for a spot in Mauricio Pochettino’s squad for the 2026 World Cup.
“I feel strong and ready to go,” Adams stated, reflecting on his fitness as he prepares for the match.
Adams spoke about staying in Bournemouth for rehabilitation, noting it allowed him time to build strength, improve fitness, and connect with his teammates.
“I feel consistent and strong now. It’s crucial to finish the season on a high note,” Adams added, mentioning he had previously dealt with an MCL injury this season as well.
Bournemouth heads into their match against Arsenal on an impressive 11-match unbeaten streak in the Premier League, with their last league defeat being against Arsenal — a 3-2 loss at home on January 3.
The team is currently ranked 13th in the league standings, with seven matches remaining this season.
Pochettino’s squad is set to kick off their World Cup journey against Paraguay on June 12 in Inglewood, California.
