Inter Close on Serie A…

Inter Milan staged a remarkable comeback to secure a 4-3 win against Como on Sunday, widening their lead in the Serie A to nine points with six matches left to play.

Marcus Thuram and Denzel Dumfries both netted two goals for Inter, who capitalized on second-placed Napoli’s earlier 1-1 draw with Parma to extend their lead.

Como’s Alex Valle and Nico Paz scored late in the first half before Thuram ignited Inter’s comeback with a goal in added time of the first half.

Como’s Lucas Da Cunha converted a penalty in the 89th minute to narrow the deficit.

The two teams are set to meet again in the second leg of the Italian Cup semifinals later this month, following a scoreless first leg.

This match served as another positive sign for Inter, who recently snapped a three-match winless streak with a 5-2 victory over Roma.

Cristian Chivu aims to clinch the Serie A title in his first season as coach of Inter, taking over from the departed Simone Inzaghi.

Como slipped from fourth to fifth place, just outside the Champions League spots.

Napoli faced an early setback, conceding a goal just 33 seconds into their match, which may jeopardize their chances of retaining the Serie A title. They managed to equalize through Scott McTominay after Gabriel Strefezza had opened the scoring for Parma with an assist from goalkeeper Zion Suzuki.

This outcome ended a five-match winning run for Napoli.

Parma moved nine points clear of the relegation zone, now sitting in 14th place.

Earlier on Sunday, Bologna triumphed over Lecce 2-0, with goals from Remo Freuler and Riccardo Orsolini, while Genoa defeated Sassuolo 2-1 thanks to goals from Ruslan Malinovskyi and Caleb Ekuban.
