Wrexhams Rob Offers…

As the race for promotion in the Premier League intensifies, Wrexham co-owner Rob McElhenney is already strategizing ways to gain an upper hand against Coventry City in their match on Sunday, even offering his rivals a trip to Las Vegas.

Following their 1-0 victory over Oxford United on Tuesday, Wrexham currently holds the sixth position in the EFL Championship standings with 70 points, narrowly ahead of Hull City on goal difference for the last playoff spot.

Each season, three teams ascend to the Premier League from the Championship, with the top two earning automatic promotion. Teams ranked 3rd through 6th must compete in a playoff to secure the final slot.

Covenrty, set to host Wrexham on Sunday, recently clinched their place in the top flight league. In celebration, McElhenney tagged co-owner Ryan Reynolds on social media, extending an inviting proposal for Coventry: a first-class trip to Las Vegas.

The only stipulation involved being prepared for the upcoming match, though McElhenney humorously added, “a little late is okay too.”

With only two matches left in the season, earning points against Coventry is crucial for Wrexham to secure their playoff spot. They will then face fifth-place Middlesbrough on the final day, another vital encounter.

American actors McElhenney and Reynolds purchased the club in 2021. Wrexham, the oldest club in Wales established in 1864, has achieved an unprecedented three consecutive promotions in the English football system.

To maintain this remarkable streak, they may need some cooperation from Coventry—and a dash of luck from Las Vegas.
