Slot: Uncertainty…

Arne Slot has indicated that Liverpool must wait to see if Mohamed Salah has played his final match for the club. He was substituted due to injury during Saturday’s 3-1 win against Crystal Palace.

The Egypt international appeared to suffer a hamstring injury in the second half at Anfield, waving goodbye to the home crowd as he was replaced by Jeremie Frimpong.

With only four matches left before he departs the club this summer following a standout career at Liverpool, Salah faces a race against time to regain fitness.

“We don’t know, that is the best answer I can give,” Slot responded when questioned if the forward has played his last match in a Liverpool jersey.

“If I say there’s a possibility, that might lead to headlines about it, so we simply cannot determine that right now. What we do know is that the season ends in four weeks.

Not many games remain, so we must wait and see how his injury progresses and whether he can return to action.”

“What I know about Mo is that he has taken exceptional care of his body over the years, which should minimize his recovery time. We hope for the best and that he is available for the final matches.”

Liverpool triumphed over Palace with contributions from Alexander Isak, Andy Robertson, and Florian Wirtz.

This marked Isak’s first Premier League goal at Anfield, and his first goal since returning from a broken fibula earlier this month.

“Did anyone think we would say this eight or nine months ago, that Alexander Isak would score his first Liverpool goal at Anfield?” Slot remarked.

“This highlights a lot about this season; it has been challenging for such an incredible striker who has dealt with injuries and wasn’t available to play, yet now he has scored. It’s great to see him get on the scoresheet.”

“When we brought him in, we knew he had the potential to score goals, and that’s exactly what he demonstrated today. There have been many instances this season where we had better chances than we had today.”

“That underscores the importance of having players who can find the net because it can provide a significant boost in the game—something we’ve sorely missed during the months he was unavailable or not performing at his usual level.”
