In a dramatic 5-4 Champions League victory over Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain has confirmed a setback, as key player Achraf Hakimi faces weeks on the sidelines due to a hamstring injury.
Hakimi sustained the injury late in the semifinal first leg at Parc des Princes on Tuesday following a collision with Konrad Laimer. He was unable to continue despite PSG having no available substitutions.
The Moroccan defender will be absent for the return leg in Munich next Wednesday.

“Achraf Hakimi has sustained a right thigh injury during the match against Bayern Munich and will be sidelined for the next few weeks,” stated PSG.
Should PSG advance past Bayern, they will meet either Arsenal or Atlético Madrid in the Champions League final on May 30.
Hakimi, who ranked sixth in last year’s Ballon d’Or voting, is anticipated to be a vital player for Morocco at the upcoming World Cup. Morocco, who reached the semifinals in 2022, will kick off their campaign on June 13 against Brazil.
PSG also reported that goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier, who was on the bench during the first leg, will also be missing “for the next few weeks” due to a thigh injury sustained in training.
Chevalier has recently lost his starting position to Matvei Safonov during the latter half of the season.
