Pep: Incredible energy…

Pep Guardiola expressed that he still possesses “incredible energy” for his role at Manchester City, feeling calmer despite the demands of pursuing a treble.

Throughout the season, there has been speculation regarding Guardiola’s potential departure from City after a decade at the helm, yet he continues to speak fondly of the club.

“I wouldn’t be here for 10 years, even with the success we’ve had, if I didn’t feel this incredible environment,” the City manager remarked.

“I still have incredible energy; I’m excited to come here and work even on my days off.”

“Naturally, our success has kept me in this position—people trust you because of those achievements—but more than that, this club is truly extraordinary.”

“The staff takes care of every detail, allowing both me and the players to concentrate solely on our tasks.”

“It creates an environment that feels like a bubble of positivity. While it’s a big club, it also feels like a family.”

“It’s normal for players to be disappointed if they’re not playing; that’s understandable. However, beyond that, there’s nothing to complain about.”

Guardiola cited examples of the club’s exceptional off-field support, noting that former players like Aymeric Laporte and Ilkay Gündogan have spoken highly of their experiences after leaving the club.

He added: “There are many examples illustrating what a wonderful club this is.”

“During the COVID era, how many organizations around the world, including football clubs, were laying off staff? Here, not a single person was let go, and salaries remained unaffected.”

“Even in the toughest times, the support was unwavering.”

Guardiola believes he feels less pressure this season, even while pursuing a domestic treble.

City will face Everton on Monday, needing a win to maintain pressure on Arsenal at the Premier League summit.

This stands in contrast to last season when City was not in contention for the title and primarily focused on securing Champions League qualification.

He said: “Before games, I do feel the pressure, but in between matches, I’m much calmer.”

“Last season, I spent 24 hours worrying about what might happen if we didn’t qualify for the Champions League. I felt that heavily. I can’t imagine the pressure faced by teams fighting against relegation.”

“This season, we’ve already won the Carabao Cup, reached the FA Cup final again, and we’re still in the title race with Arsenal.”

“It’s been really positive. While I wish we could have progressed in the Champions League, the experience will serve as valuable for the next season.”
