Paris Saint-Germain has announced that their newly unveiled 2026-27 home kit, revealed on Saturday, pays homage to the club’s dedicated supporters, both past and present. While it’s important to honor the current fanbase, this design unmistakably draws inspiration from the history of Parisiens.
For the first time in 25 years, PSG will wear a striking royal blue jersey at the Parc des Princes. Nike brought a brighter shade of blue to the team’s apparel in 1990, which became the foundation of every home kit until the 2000-01 season. In the years leading up to and following that 11-year span, PSG had primarily donned a dark navy hue.
Among enthusiasts of sportswear and collectors, those 1990s PSG jerseys are highly sought after, as both football fashion and pop culture resonate with the bold, oversized styles of three decades past.
In another nod to the past, the new shirt features a bold, wide red stripe running down its center. Although Nike and PSG have previously utilized this design, particularly in the 2011-12 season, the wide stripe is a signature element that characterized Les Parisiens kits from 1973 to 1987.
Furthermore, in keeping with recent trends, the jersey’s center showcases an array of logos. This marks the third time in six seasons that the PSG crest will prominently feature on the chest, rather than over the heart, sharing the space with the Nike swoosh and the Qatar Airways logo, which has been subtly adjusted to fit within the wide red stripe.
With three matches left in their Ligue 1 campaign, PSG currently leads the league by three points (with an additional game in hand). They also face Arsenal in Budapest as they strive to become the first team to win back-to-back UEFA Champions League titles since Real Madrid did so three consecutive times from 2015-16 to 2017-18. There will be ample opportunities for fans to see and wear a shirt that is sure to excite the kit community.
