Lamine Yamal appeared to respond to Real Madrid‘s Jude Bellingham with a cheeky “Talk is cheap” comment on social media following Barcelona‘s victory that secured the LaLiga title on Sunday.

In the match, Marcus Rashford and Ferran Torres scored to secure a 2-0 win over Madrid, placing Barça 14 points ahead of their rivals as they head into the final three matches of the season.

Although Yamal missed the match due to a hamstring injury that has sidelined him for the remainder of the season, he celebrated the title triumph alongside his teammates on the pitch after the final whistle.

The following day, the Barça winger shared a photo from the stands, capturing his joy as Barcelona triumphed over Madrid, marking their seventh win in eight Clásico matches since Hansi Flick took the helm in the summer of 2024.

“Talk is cheap,” Yamal posted in English, along with seven crying emojis.

This message seemed to be a reply to Bellingham, who had previously shared the same sentiment—”Talk is cheap. HALA MADRID SIEMPRE!!!”—after Madrid defeated Barcelona 2-1 in LaLiga last October.

Bellingham’s comment had come shortly after Yamal stirred controversy before the Clásico by suggesting that Madrid “rob and complain.”

Following Madrid’s victory, captain Dani Carvajal and other players took Yamal to task regarding his remarks.

Despite Madrid’s previous win putting them five points ahead of Barça in the LaLiga standings back in October, it marked a turning point in the title race in Spain.

Barcelona then went on to win 23 of their next 25 league matches, culminating in Sunday’s victory against Madrid, which secured back-to-back league titles for the club under Flick.
