Star winger Yan Diomande has expressed his loyalty to RB Leipzig, aiming to aid the club’s return to the Champions League next season while also acknowledging the interest from numerous other clubs.
At just 19, Diomande has experienced a standout season since joining Leipzig from Leganes for €20 million (£17m) last summer, significantly impacting the Bundesliga. His impressive performances have garnered attention, particularly from Liverpool, as reported by ESPN sources.
The talented player, representing the Ivory Coast at this summer’s World Cup, is aware that interest in him may escalate further. However, with a contract lasting until 2030, Diomande is determined to show gratitude for the support Leipzig has extended to him.
“My contract here runs until 2030, so I have four more years,” Diomande told reporters. “What happens after that? I can’t predict. Right now, I am a Leipzig player.
“I will always cherish this opportunity. It’s about more than just football; the club has provided invaluable support off the pitch as well. They have helped my family and me. I feel obligated to give my all on the field every day.”
“Nobody knew who I was before, and €20 million is significant. It was a considerable risk for them, and I appreciate it. As I’ve said before, we are on a positive path, and there’s more work ahead of us.”
Although sources indicate that Diomande is dedicated to Leipzig, he acknowledges the possibility of a summer transfer if a substantial offer emerges. The speculation only fuels his ambition to improve.
“It brings happiness and motivation to improve,” Diomande remarked. “I focus on my performance without dwelling on external factors since football is my primary job, while my representatives manage the off-field aspects. Such interest inspires me, but my concentration remains on the pitch.”
“Having a supportive team makes it easier to stay focused on what I can control, which is performing well in football.”

Diomande’s rise has been remarkable. He was signed by Leganes from the DME Academy in January 2025 and made his La Liga debut against Real Madrid in March 2025. Leipzig activated his €20m release clause that summer. He made his Ivory Coast debut in October 2025 and participated in AFCON, helping his team reach the quarterfinals. Diomande has since shone in the Bundesliga, contributing 13 goals and nine assists across league and cup matches.
“I want to thank God first, as this has been an incredible year for me as a young player—playing in AFCON at 19, qualifying for the World Cup, and competing in the Bundesliga. I’m proud of my journey and grateful to everyone at the club for this amazing opportunity,” Diomande expressed.
