PSGs Dembélé Receives…

Paris Saint-Germain striker Ousmane Dembélé will be receiving treatment over the coming days in preparation for the Champions League final, as announced by his club on Monday. He is currently experiencing discomfort in his right calf muscle.

The France international had to leave the pitch after just 27 minutes during PSG’s 2-1 defeat against Paris FC on Sunday, the last match of the French league season. After the game, PSG’s coach Luis Enrique suggested that Dembélé’s exit was due to fatigue.

However, PSG clarified in a statement that the player was “substituted as a precaution.”

The reigning champions, PSG, are set to face Arsenal in the Champions League final on May 30 at Puskas Arena in Budapest.

Dembélé was instrumental in PSG’s league title victory last season, scoring 21 goals and winning the Ballon d’Or. This season, however, he has been less effective primarily due to persistent injuries affecting his performance in the first half of the campaign.

Despite this, he has still netted 10 goals and provided seven assists in 22 league matches overall, as Coach Luis Enrique has utilized him more selectively in Ligue 1.

Dembélé’s impact has been more significant in the Champions League. PSG is aiming for a consecutive title after overcoming Bayern Munich in the semifinals, with Dembélé scoring an early goal in the second leg, which resulted in a 1-1 draw, advancing PSG 6-5 on aggregate.
