Liverpool Revive an All

Following a lackluster defense of their Premier League title this season, Liverpool is already setting its sights on the next campaign with the introduction of their new home kit for the 2026-27 season.

The Reds haven’t held back, creating a design that pays tribute to one of the club’s most successful eras and its most iconic jersey styles.

The design draws inspiration from Liverpool’s classic home shirt worn between 1989-1991, a period that marked the conclusion of the club’s remarkable run of domestic and European success during the ’70s and ’80s.

This iconic kit, associated with legends like John Barnes, Ian Rush, and Jan Mølby, featured a white geometric pattern as Liverpool secured the 1989-90 First Division title in Kenny Dalglish’s last season as player-manager.

It took the club three decades to claim another league title, with Jürgen Klopp finally bringing the Premier League trophy to Anfield in the 2019-20 season.

The modern interpretation retains the essence of that beloved late ’80s design, featuring a rich red base adorned with numerous white triangles and bars, reminiscent of the original.

The kit’s trim is deliberately understated to balance the intricate pattern, while Adidas’s trendy oversized stripes run down the shoulders (as seen in Arsenal and Manchester United‘s upcoming kits).

The accompanying goalkeeper jersey is noteworthy as well, inspired by the same retro triangular design, echoing the kit worn by Bruce Grobbelaar all those years ago.
