Ronaldo Secures First…

Cristiano Ronaldo made a significant impact by scoring two goals in Al Nassr’s 4-1 victory over Damac on Thursday, marking the Portugal star’s first Saudi Pro League title since his arrival in January 2023.

This victory secured the club’s 11th league title, and it was Al Nassr’s first championship since Ronaldo joined, finishing two points clear of rivals Al Hilal on the final day of the season.

After a missed opportunity to clinch the title the previous week due to a stoppage-time error by Brazil’s keeper Bento in a 1-1 draw against Al Hilal, Al Nassr’s performance took a hit with an unexpected defeat to Gamba Osaka in the AFC Champions League Two final the weekend before.

Nevertheless, under the guidance of Jorge Jesus, the team secured the win against Damac at the King Saud University Stadium, with contributions from former Liverpool winger Sadio Mané, who also found the net, along with former Atlético Madrid and Chelsea forward João Félix, who played alongside Ronaldo during the match.

Mané kicked things off by scoring late in the first half, followed by Kingsley Coman scoring shortly after halftime, and Ronaldo capped it off with his two goals, bringing his seasonal total to 27 and 28 league goals.

In just three seasons in Saudi Arabia, Ronaldo has netted over 100 goals for the club after his return to the SPL post his second spell at Manchester United.

Moved by the occasion, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner received a standing ovation as he exited the field with three minutes to go. Ronaldo has now claimed domestic league titles across Portugal, England, Spain, Italy, and Saudi Arabia, and he is set to represent Portugal in his sixth World Cup appearance in 2026.

Ronaldo’s only other accolade with Al Nassr was the Arab Club Champions Cup in 2023, which is not recognized as a FIFA-sanctioned title.
