Harry Kane scored a hat trick, bringing his season total to 61 goals, as Bayern Munich triumphed over Stuttgart with a 3-0 win in the German Cup final, marking their 21st title and their first since 2020.
Kane opened the scoring just 10 minutes into the second half, helping Vincent Kompany’s team achieve a domestic double.

The England captain nailed the crossbar with a powerful strike ten minutes before celebrating his second goal of the match and 60th of the season, scoring following a one-two with Luis Díaz.
Kane concluded the evening by securing his hat trick from the penalty spot after Angelo Stiller handled Michael Olise’s cross in the box.
With 10 goals in this year’s competition, Kane not only set a record for the most goals in a German Cup campaign since Dieter Müller netted 14 and Gerd Müller scored 11 in 1976-77, but he also capped the season with back-to-back hat tricks, having scored thrice in the Bundesliga finale against FC Cologne the previous weekend.
“I’m so proud of the team, especially after a challenging season filled with hard work,” Kane remarked in a post-match interview. “We aimed to finish the season with a performance like today’s, and winning 3-0 is a testament to everyone involved.”
“I’m thrilled for the fans; it’s been too long since we held this cup. This is my first experience in Berlin, and what a way to start!”
The Bayern squad immediately turned to their fans in the Olympiastadion’s east end to celebrate the end of a six-year wait for the cup title.
Kane’s second-half goals sparked celebrations among Bayern supporters, who had joined Stuttgart fans in protesting against the German soccer federation (DFB) regarding proposed increases in security measures.
The protests began after halftime when Bayern fans displayed a massive DFB logo crossed out, alongside a banner conveying strong sentiments against the DFB. Stuttgart fans also showcased a banner calling for “freedom for the terraces,” filling the stadium with stunning pyrotechnic displays, obscuring the field in smoke.
Stuttgart, who claimed victory against third-division champions Arminia Bielefeld in last year’s final, entered this match having already suffered three defeats to Bayern this season, including a 4-2 loss in April’s Bundesliga match.
Despite Stuttgart’s strong start, highlighted by Maximilian Mittelstädt’s brilliant effort saved by Jonas Urbig—who filled in for injured Manuel Neuer—Bayern’s experience proved decisive once Kane found the net.
“We improved in the second half and became much more effective,” Joshua Kimmich shared with broadcaster ARD as his team moved to lift the trophy amid a cascade of golden confetti.
