Barcelona‘s Alexia Putellas has been awarded the UEFA Women’s Champions League Player of the Season, while the Revelation of the Season honor has gone to OL Lyonnes‘ United States star Lily Yohannes.
In Saturday’s final held in Oslo, Barça triumphed over the eight-time champions Lyonnes with a convincing 4-0 victory, securing the title for the fourth time in six years.
Despite not scoring in the final, Putellas, aged 32, made a significant impact throughout the tournament, netting seven goals and providing seven assists over 11 matches, leading the tournament with a total of 14 goal contributions.
This marks Putellas’s second time winning Player of the Season in the Champions League, having previously received this accolade for the 2021-22 season. Her teammate, Aitana Bonmatí, has been awarded this title for the past three years.
Meanwhile, 18-year-old Yohannes captured the Revelation of the Season award after her contributions helped Lyonnes reach the final.
The USWNT midfielder, who joined from Ajax last summer, has shone in the competition, registering two goals and one assist in ten European matches this season.
Candidates for this award must be 21 or younger at the start of the season, recognizing emerging players with outstanding performances.
Additionally, the Team of the Season sees strong representation from Barça with five players selected, while all four semifinalists are featured in the lineup.
Barça forward Ewa Pajor, who scored twice in the final to increase her tally for the season to 11, joins teammates Putellas, Patri Guijarro, Mapi León, and goalkeeper Cata Coll in the Team of the Season.
From defeated finalists Lyonnes, Selma Bacha, Wendie Renard, and Melchie Dumornay were also included, alongside Arsenal players Emily Fox and Alessia Russo, as well as Bayern Munich‘s Pernille Harder.
Lastly, the Goal of the Season award was claimed by Atlético Madrid‘s Júlia Bartel, currently on loan from Chelsea, for her stunning volley against Twente during the league phase.
Bartel’s remarkable strike narrowly edged out Yohannes’ long-range effort from just inside the opposing half against St. Pölten, and Lauren James‘ long-distance shot against Arsenal in the quarterfinals.
