According to insiders, United has pursued Éderson after a potential transfer to Atlético Madrid fell through.
The Spanish club has since shifted its focus to Wolves midfielder João Gomes, who was previously on United’s radar back in January.
United has already settled personal terms with Éderson, and a deal with Atalanta is expected to be confirmed shortly.
