Paul Mullin is set to depart from Wrexham AFC after five successful years, following a mutual agreement to terminate his contract.
During his time at Wrexham, Mullin netted 110 goals in 172 matches and earned the title of Player of the Season three times, setting a club record.
The English striker joined Wrexham on a free transfer in 2021 after leaving Cambridge United, making the move when the club was still in the National League. He quickly became a key figure in Wrexham’s resurgence following their acquisition by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.
In his inaugural season, Mullin scored 47 goals across all competitions, playing a vital role in Wrexham’s promotion to League Two.

Wrexham went on to earn promotion to League One and then achieved a consecutive promotion to the EFL Championship, where they currently compete. They narrowly missed qualifying for the playoffs last season.
Mullin was among the ten players to achieve back-to-back-to-back promotions with the club.
Last season, he spent time on loan at Wigan Athletic and Bradford City.
Manager Phil Parkinson commented on Mullin’s departure, stating, “I wish Paul all the best. This agreement allows him the time to find the right opportunity moving forward. We can’t overstate the significance of Mulls in Wrexham’s narrative over the past five years, with his numerous unforgettable goals and moments. He will always be a player cherished and remembered by our fans.”
The 31-year-old exits Wrexham as the club’s ninth-highest all-time goalscorer.
